Election Latest: Vote Yes for Cute Kittens

Aidan is buzzing. He’s like a kid in a toyshop. I, on the other hand, am just about keeping my excitement under wraps. We’re sitting in the first and, to my knowledge, only Dublin bar to offer the “unique” pull your own pint experience. Aidan thinks it’s amazing. Pulling our own pints. God above. What next?

I’m not quite so enthusiastic. I think its a gimmick. They’re making me do something that’s normally done for me by someone else? Yippee, when we’re finished here, can I clean the toilets? Read the rest of this article here.

Bring back the pub reviews Eoin. They were the best. I always loved reading them on a Thursday. Except when it turned out I’d already read it on your website!

Those things are taking over. They’re in O’Neill’s Suffolk Street too. Saves queuing at the bar!!

  3. Conal Says:

First place I saw one of those pull your own pint jobbies was in the Czech Republic, they had a big scoreboard up on the wall as to how many litres each table had gone through. Dangerously clever.

I’m assuming the ones in Dublin are prepaid?

@ Conal – no as far as I know, in most places, you settle up at the rnd of the night. I don’t partake tho, as they only do Heineken and Guinness. And I have more class than that.

Conal – Very clever, jez you’d be dishonouring Ireland if you didn’t drink as Tommy Tiernan once said, “a small child” in beer!!
