St. Patrick’s Day in Chinatown

I’ve been waiting all year to post this. One of my favourite ever bits from Late Night With Conan O’Brien. I promise, this is my last Conan-related clip for at least six months. Oh go on then sure, I suppose, one more won’t hurt…

March 13th, 2010.

That’s interesting, Kate. I had a girl email me a couple of times who signed off her emails with “FTW”. I didn’t know what it meant so I Googled it and came across some explanation that it meant “Fuck the World”.

I was really nice to her cos I thought maybe she was alienated from society or something. Phh!

With you on that one Eoin. I have a bit of a thing for emo girls too.

    “For The Win.

An enthusiastic emphasis to the end of a comment, message, or post. Sometimes genuine, but often sarcastic.”

that aside, was her name by any chance Coco?

  5. Eoin Says:

For the win makes no sense to me tho. I don’t understand how anyone could say that so regularly it required abbreviation.

you’re showing your age, eoin! i use it all the time 😉

“FTW” was urban word of the day on the 7th of August 2007

i hadn’t seen it until i saw that pic – could be an american thing. they love a good acronym.
