WILLIE JOE GOES OFF MESSAGE…

UP DE ROSSIES
Sacrilege! Regular commenter Massey sent this my way yesterday. I originally intended to post it with a witty photoshopped reply of my own. But I’m afraid “Up the Rossies” is just such a profoundly tragic slogan, there was really nowhere funny I could take it. For the unfamiliar, the reference is to the Roscommon football team, who play the sport with about as much art and panache as Massey exhibits in the field of photoshop image doctoring. They constitute Mayo’s deadly footballing rivals solely in fertile fields of their own overactive imaginations. Roscommon people have difficulty pronouncing words with two or more syllables, hence the abbreviation.

If anyone has the time or energy to come up with their own reply – and it isn’t disrespectful to the great Willie Joe – send it on and I’ll be sure to post it. This could be the new Downfall mash up. Or probably not…
