Isis (2002)

I married Isis on the fifth day of May
But I could not hold on to her very long
So I cut off my hair and I rode straight away
For the wild unknown country where I could not go wrong

May 24th, 2011.

I saw them play this in Marley Park in 2004. I adored The White Stripes and I remember the gig being one of the most intense rock ‘n’ roll experiences I’d encountered in my young life.

It’s a real shame there will be no more White Stripes albums to look forward to. All the Raconteurs albums in the world won’t make up for it.

Happy birthday Bobert Dylanman, wherever you are.

I was at the same gig. My main memories are that we had my girlfriend’s 14 year old cousin with us – and I had to sign something to say I’d take responsibility for his welfare or something like that – and also that Meg very obviously had a wind machine blowing her hair throughout the set.

I was there toooo! One of my favourite parts was the mixtape Jack put together that played during breaks etc. Emmylou and Hank featured amongst others as I remember 🙂

    Great song.
