@ EK – just read it now. A cautionary tale for anyone thinking of writing on a subject considerably outside of their own area of expertise.
I don’t see how Dylan’s being Jewish precludes him from recording an album of Christmas songs. Also, Clarkson’s claim that Dylan “seems to suggest on of Santa’s reindeers is called Clinton…”
The line is:
Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Carter, Regan, Bush and Clinton…
Yeah, he’s talking about reindeers!

Been singing the praises of this song (and video) to anyone who will listen to my rantings since you first posted it.
And explaining this video can only come out as sounding like a mad rant.

I have no time for dylan – and Ive said as much before – but even I have to admit this is just fantastic.
I wonder now will this song be my way in to the genius of Bob Dylan. Sure what the heck I’ll give Nashville Skyline another go now after hearing this…

@ Pluck – if you’re a Dylan agnostic, I’d recommend you start on Blonde on Blonde. It’s probably the most accessible.
Nashville Skyline, while one of my all time favourite albums, is kind of a very fluffy and conventional country album. Takes a bit of working around to.
John Wesley Harding probably a better introduction to his country side.

blonde on blonde-the training wheels of dylan albums.accessible? not at all.sure man anything more dissonant than a jews harp sounds to my ears like a blast of pure industrial noise.
ah yea,blonde on blonde.highway 61 revisted-believe me when ive been down that road before(ho!another triumph!!). no it wont do. the mans a cod and ive my mind made up.tho i have to admit finding myself in agreement with clarkson tho now is giving me pause for thought…[mmm]…ok,pause over-no hes still a cod!
